The Nelson County Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 62nd year serving the business community at a grand GALA Dinner held on November 11, 2017 at the Carriage House at the historic Oak Ridge Estate. Below are some highlights.
Nelson Chamber of Commerce Donates Gala Proceeds
The Nelson County Chamber of Commerce recently donated a portion of their 62nd Annual Gala Dinner proceeds to two organizations. Greg Truslow and Brenda Loving-Hudson were on-hand to present The Nelson County High School IT Dept a check for $1,000 to help supply beneficial supplies and equipment to the students. According to Eric Kiser, the technology instructor “I am hoping to purchase a few 3D printer DIY kits. Our Graphic Imaging class makes custom designs for tee shirts. I would also like to purchase some fabric vinyl, Hoodies, and a new vinyl cutter. I want all students to have the opportunity to take something home that they have created”.
Almost Home Pet Adoption received a check for $750 to help with the care of the animals they receive into their shelter. Almost Home is a non-kill facility, in which they have several long-term care animals that require medical attention, on an almost daily basis. Bette Grahame, the President of Almost Home, said “the monies received will go towards pet care and some of the costly medical bills and surgeries incurred during their stay”.
The Nelson County Chamber of Commerce would like to thank both organizations for their education and services efforts in the county.
